Rapha

Rebuilding the Rapha Cycling Club app.

I led product definition and scope on our side of Rapha’s Cycling Club app rebuild, working as an extension of the in-house team. The app helps members find rides, join events and connect with other cyclists. Two native apps had evolved differently over nine years; we needed to decide what to carry forward.

I mapped the differences and helped the team make trade-offs as designs and estimates evolved, protecting the experience without carrying every old interaction into the new app, which went live in June 2026.

Deciding what to carry forward.

The iOS and Android apps differed in interactions, screen logic and how they loaded data. I mapped their behaviour feature by feature, turning inconsistencies and assumptions into decisions the team could make together.

With that shared picture, I worked with Rapha’s product counterpart and engineering to define the rebuild as designs evolved. We planned the app shell and features in parallel, distinguishing small fixes to awkward interactions from new capabilities that would expand the scope.

Working with engineering estimates and Rapha’s priorities, we adjusted the scope as constraints emerged, including removing Dark Mode to reduce design effort.

As delivery progressed, Rapha’s own PM took over product decisions while I continued to support design and alignment across the delivery team.
